NHS Pilates for back pain

This 29-minute class focuses on improving the strength and flexibility of muscles that support the back.

Regular pilates practice can help with posture, muscle tone, balance and joint mobility. It can also relieve stress and tension.

The NHS video library also have a range of other Pilates and yoga classes for specific conditions.

Open water swimming with Wave23

We are so lucky to have the wonderful coastline and sea on our doorstep. There are many benefits to open water swimming both physical and mental. Check out this Dr Chatterjee podcast to find out more – The new science of cold exposure.

So if you want to try sea swimming but are nervous of starting, the lovely coaches at Wave23 can support you on your first steps into the water.

If you are already an experienced swimmer, Wave23 provides both open water and pool coaching sessions.

Ellingham lake in Ringwood also has dedicated open water swimming session over the summer months. Great for if the sea conditions are not favourable.

Canicross

Canicross is a sport where you run or jog with your dog connected to you. The benefits include exercise for both and forming a stronger bond with your four legged friend by working as a team. As well as providing mental stimulation and socialisation for your dog, it is great fun for you both.  It can also be beneficial for reactive dogs if they are introduce to it in the correct way.
